Big Cats - Two of the "Big Five" of Africa are found in this gallery - Lions & Leopards. For all you cat lovers - this is the gallery for you. Not among the Big Five - but should be - is one of my favorite cats - the Cheetah. To be up close and personal while observing a lion pride interacting and fighting for survival is something to marvel; or watch a cheetah hover over her cubs to protect them and nudge them along with her nose; or to watch a powerful leopard hoist their kill (often twice their own body weight) up a tree away from other predators; or watch the mighty Bengal Tiger walk right in front of your vehicle and stare directly into your eyes is beyond description. All of the big cats were photographed in either Africa (primarily Kenya or South Africa) and India. With many of the animals I photograph, I love to capture the emotions that I observe, which means I produce many up close images of their faces and eyes. For a fleeting moment, I feel like I am part of their world.
Little Cats - All of the domestic cats in the Little Cat Gallery found themselves, for one reason or another, temporarily living at a local county Humane Society until they were blessed with a "forever" family that would adopt them. There are far too many animals in our world that are mistreated and/or do not have loving humans to care for them. After all - the main thing animals want is to be loved and cared for. If you already support your local SPCA - Thank You - and if not perhaps you might have a place in your home and heart for one of the dogs or cats that find themselves orphaned.
