If you are a birder, then Africa or The Galapagos are for you. About 12% of the world's bird population reside in Kenya. In Africa, the size of the birds range from the largest bird in the world, Ostrich (8 feet tall, about 200+ pounds) to a Pygmy Kingfisher or Little Bee-eater, (4-6 inches). The prettiest bird I have ever photographed is the Lilac-Breasted Roller in Kenya - their bodies are streaked with lilac, white, turquoise blue, pink and brown and their under wing color is a fabulous azure blue and black. I will never forget the full red chest of the male Frigit Bird in the Galapagos trying to attract a female frigit or the Blue-Footed Boobies mimicking each other during their courting ritual.
